RackSpace: Cloud Servers | ORD, LON, DFW | Non-Infrastructure Customer Impacting Issue

At approximately 19:00 CDT, Rackspace became aware of an issue that is causing a high CPU load for some Cloud Servers running certain combinations of kernels and NTP causing those Cloud Servers to become unresponsive. At this time, we believe this issue to be related to the Leap Second software bug, and we believe rebooting your impacted Cloud Servers should resolve the issue.

DreamHost: Network Improvement Series Maintenance #4: Core Router Upgrade (Orange County) Saturday, June 30 – 8pm PDT(4 hours) Part 3: Hardware Cut Over

Last night, we successfully completed the software-related changes (Part 2 of maintenance #4) necessary for the core router upgrade in our Orange County datacenter. On Saturday, we are performing the actual physical upgrade, Part 3.

The process will involve moving cabling of individual subsets of our network in that datacenter, one at a time. Web and MySQL service interruption will occur while the individual networks are moved, but will only affect customers on those specific networks for a short time (< 5 minutes). We do have several physical connections to switch so we expect to use the entire four hour window.

We appreciate your patience while we work towards completing our network upgrades.

If you’re experiencing downtime *before* the window referenced above, please contact support with the details, as it’s unrelated to this maintenance. During the maintenance, we will keep you updated, so please check back here often.

HostExcellence: Web602 – Down

Web602 is currently down and is being looked into by our administrators. We will update as soon as they pinpoint the issue.

The server is back up but may be running very slow due to the RAID restore.

During RAID restore, corrupted files halted progress, and the server needed to be taken down again. Our system admins are working to recreate the server now.

At approximately 3:50 PM CT, Cloud engineers have identified an issue with an SSL host in our DFW datacenter. Customer websites that utilize this particular host may experience intermittent timeouts, connection unavailable errors, and/or longer load times. Our engineers are working towards a resolution.

UPDATE: As of 4:10PM CT, Our Engineers have resolved this server issue and services have been restored.
