RackSpace: Cloud Control Panel | UK | Priority Maintenance | Tuesday May 1st, 2012 at 10:00 PM – 2:00 AM BST

Rackspace Cloud system engineers will be performing a priority maintenance to our UK Cloud Control Panel on Tuesday May 1st, 2012 at 10:00  PM – 2:00 AM BST.  While we do not expect any impact, there is a small possibility of errors and delays when using the Cloud Control Panel and API for UK customers during the first hour of this maintenance. All Cloud Server instances will remain on line and be accessible.

RackSpace: Cloud Sites | DFW 1-1 PHP Session Storage | Online

At around 11:55PM CDT, our Cloud Sites Engineering team was notified of reports of intermittent latency on several PHP clusters in our DFW datacenter. Our engineers are currently actively engaged in troubleshooting the issue. Customers with PHP websites utlizing these clusters may experience intermittent latency and possible timeouts until the issue is resolved.

UPDATE: At about 12:40AM CDT, our Cloud Sites Engineering team identified an issue with a session storage device. Once this device was reset the latency and timeouts on the affected PHP clusters in our DFW 1-1 datacenter are now serving pages. Customers with websites utilizing these clusters should no longer be experiencing latency caused by this issue.

HostExcellence: MySQL7 Emergency Maintenance – Resolved

MySQL7 was generating errors. In order to resolve this and hopefully stop future problems, the system administration has taken the server offline. Currently the server is running a RAID rebuild. As of now, we do not believe that these errors have caused data loss.

DreamHost: Wednesday May 2nd Network Maintenance – fiber ring between our two Los Angeles based data centers – 10pm PDT – 2 hours

On Wednesday May 2nd we will be performing fiber maintenance that will confirm our transfer capacity between our Los Angeles based data centers.  The fiber ring is being tested to minimize errors and to ensure maximum throughput.  We are giving ourselves a 2 hour window starting at 10pm PDT Wednesday May 2nd.  Service affected will be strictly web content. Websites that have their hosting server in one data center and their MySQL databases in the other will notice database connection errors. MySQL and web server in different data centers is not our typical setup so this should only affect a small subset of customers.  This maintenance should not take the full 2 hours to complete. We will be using the maintenance window to monitor the changes and make sure no complications arise. This upgrade is extremely important to our reliability focus and efforts.
