RackSpace: Cloud Sites | MSSQL Priority Maintenance | DFW | August 31, 2011 9:00 PM CDT-11:00 PM CDT

The Rackspace Cloud system engineers will be performing a MSSQL patching maintenance on Wednesday August 31st, between 9:00 PM CDT and 11:00 PM CDT. 

Affected Databases: 

MSSQL0803

MSSQL0804

MSSQL0809

MSSQL0810 

Rackspace will complete this maintenance as quickly as possible, and within the time specified. Any changes or updates throughout this process will be posted directly on this status page (http://status.rackspacecloud.com).

ixwebhosting: VPS lvz1-lvz11 planned maintenance Sep 3

In order to install the latest updates for Virtuozzo, our VPS Administrators will need to take each Linux VPS container down for a short period of time.  This downtime is scheduled to start on Saturday, September 3 at 1:00 AM EST (UTC-5).

The maintenance will be conducted on each container, one at a time, for approximately 30 minutes each.  We are anticipating this to take about 5 and a half hours to complete in total.

DreamHost: Shared MySQL server ‘daggernose’ downtime (RESOLVED)

We’re currently running a file system integrity check on the shared mysql server ‘daggernose’. This should be a quick one, as there is not much data on the server. Sorry about the inconvenience this is causing, and we’ll update the post again soon. – Andrea

Update Aug 28th 7:33pm PST: Happy to report that the system check was successful and your MySQL server is up and running again. The initial higher load is due to some self-repairs that are going in the background, but it’s already coming down slow and steady. DreamHost: Shared server “ankara” down for file system check (RESOLVED)

The root file system on shared hosting server ankara is corrupt so we have had to take the server down for a file system check. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available. -John

Update Aug 28th 5:30pm PST: It’s been six hours now and the machine has remained steady. This issue is now resolved and if you happen to have any problems with your site on ‘ankara’ please let support know. — JJ G

Update Aug 27th 11:30pm PST: Our admins report that the original hardware for ankara has finished the file-system check and is now just fine. That hardware is now being brought back up and taking over again, apache services are already up and running. — JJ G

Update Aug 27th 7:30pm PST: All sites should be back up now as the backups have been mounted to a new machine. We are currently running a restore from the old drives to the new drives so that all of your up to date website data (as of 8/26/2011) will be restored. The restore just started so it may take some time before you see your up to date site again. — Oscar

Update Aug 27th 5:50pm PST: The new machine is up and backups are mounted to it. Your sites are now coming back online as the apache servers are restarting. We are currently restoring all of your data from the old machine. If you notice your sites are not up to date or showing older data, this is due to the sites running from backups. We are restoring the latest data from the original machine drives and your data will be restored to the way it was as of yesterday once the restore completes.  – Oscar

Update Aug 27th 4:05pm PST: The new machine is currently being prepped with the backups and should be online shortly. We will continue to update this post as soon as we have any further updates.  – Oscar

Update Aug 27th 2:55pm PST: We will be mounting all backups to a new machine to get your sites back up and working while the old machine continues it’s file system check. The new machine is almost up and we will update you as soon as it’s up along with the backups mounted to it.  – Oscar

Update Aug 27th 1:50pm PST: Unfortunately the server is down again and the disk drives for ankara are corrupt. We are currently running another file system check on this machine.
